Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera opens Boccanera Gallery in Trento in 2007. A research space to support emerging artists in the different languages of contemporary art.
In 2016 the exhibition space, initially located in one of the residential areas of Trento, moved in the north district of the city. The large industrial warehouse of some 300 m2 grants artists greater freedom to experiment with different installation solutions, together with a project room that hosts site-specific projects. The same year Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera opens a second venue in via Ventura 6 in Lambrate, in the very heart of Milan Art Neighbourhood. In 2021 this space was enlarged with a new project room.
Since 2010, the activity of the exhibition space has been characterized by dialogue with the different cultures and realities of Eastern Europe.
Over the last ten years Boccanera Gallery has actively participated in international fairs, promoting both solo projects and collective exhibitions, broadening the generational spectrum of the artists represented. It collaborates with public institutions, private foundations and independent curators in the promotion of artists and new media.
